Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Psalm 119:105
As I put support hose on my wife’s feet every morning, I pray that God will continue to graciously support us, guiding our feet as we journey forward, and guarding our steps lest we stray from God’s path. I pray that we will feel God’s love wrapped around us, comforting rather than binding, helping us to go farther and with less pain than if we went on our own.
When I take off those same socks at night, it’s time to thank God for another day of loving support, and to pray for a quiet night of repose and rest. Foot-washing ministry takes many forms, including washing our whole lives in prayers of thanksgiving to God for each moment of each day.
Prayer: Thank you, precious savior, for the opportunity to serve. Amen.
