Prior to joining the LDA staff, Amy served as communications director for the Sisters of the Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Indiana, for 13 years, and in other communications roles in the Sisters’ health ministry for 15 years.
Why I love the LDA
I love the LDA because it is a compassionate community that embraces and encourages those who seek a deeper identity as a servant of Christ. I am excited to connect with people who support the LDA and to tell stories about ways students, deaconesses and deacons share the love of Jesus in our hurting world.
Outside the LDA
Amy serves as lay deaconess at her paish, St. Peter Lutheran Church, Mishawaka, Indiana, where she helps lead spiritual enrichment retreats, Bible studies, and programs for the congregation and the Women of St. Peter. She also is a trained Stephen Leader. As a diaconal student, she is focused on completing her formation in 2022. Amy and her husband, Don, have a grown daughter, Dana, and enjoy watching movies, exploring the Lake Michigan shoreline, remodeling their home, and eating Amy’s homemade breads!
Favorite Scripture Verse
“As the Father has loved me, so I have loved you; abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be complete. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”
– John 15:9-12
“Keep your thank you’s and I love you’s up to date.”
