“But even the hairs of your head are all counted. Do not be afraid.” Luke 12:7
Karen had cut my hair for over 25 years at Kennedy Mall in Dubuque. She knew every hair on my head. In returning to Wartburg Seminary for a visit after being gone for four years, I knew I had to see Karen. She was excited; I was thrilled to see her. She cut my hair and we talked. She knew me and cared.
God knows us all, better than any human possibly can. Knowing and being known are gifts. In Luke we are assured no one is forgotten by God, and that we are to witness about that. The Holy Spirit will teach us what to say (Luke 12:12). Before we speak, we are called to listen, to know people, to remember people so that indeed we will cherish them.
Prayer: Jesus, we thank you that not one of us is forgotten. Fill us with your Spirit to know and love the people. Amen.
