What was outside our window was claiming the classes’ attention: the lovely snow. So, I asked, “Where does the Bible mention snow? Let’s try to discover some ‘snow scripture’.” And we did!
Psalm 51:7 – David’s prayer: “Remove my sin and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.”
Matthew 28:3 – Jesus, at his transfiguration: “His clothes were white as snow.”
Isaiah 1:18 – “You are stained red with sin, but I will wash you as clean as snow.”
And then we talked about the depth of that snow, and how Jesus takes the darkness of our sin and gives us the whiteness of fine white linen – the color of snow!
Prayer: Each snowfall, gracious Lord, is a reminder of your rich love and mercy. Make us clean as new fallen snow. Amen.
