The kingdom of God is as if someone would scatter seed on the ground, and would sleep and rise night and day, and the seed would sprout and grow, he does not know how. Mark 4:26-27
The COVID Stall; this last year we could no longer measure our success by counting bodies in pews. So, stalled along with many other congregations, we had to adapt our ministries. We:
- broadcasted” our seeds, trying virtual worship,
- offered Bible classes, game nights, support groups
- had church council meetings on Zoom
- taught our kids outside with masks on
- took walks together
- used our cell phones to check on people in one-on-one conversations.
Did it work? Is anything growing?
We simply scatter seeds. Then we sleep, we rise, we watch to see what happens next. The world is God’s own field. God makes faith grow even when we don’t understand.
And we pray that God will crown this year with goodness and peace. Amen.
