DeacPost “Apple Trinity” – Deaconess Arlene Arlin-Janssens

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

We don’t always realize how important it is to raise our child in the way of the Lord from birth. When my children were very young, I read Bible stories or books explaining God. Years later, after an accident that left my son with severe disabilities, the early story telling paid off.

During a Bible study hour at church, the leader was explaining about the Trinity. My son yelled from the back of the room, “Mom, that is just like the apple story!” Yes, the apple story explained the Trinity by using the three parts of an apple: the peel, the flesh and the core. Jon can’t remember many things, but he still remembers the Trinity, and the apple story.

Prayer: Lord, we thank you for hearts to know your love, and parents who aim us in your direction.  Amen.
